POWDER ROOM
The powder room is often the smallest room in a home but it can make a dramatic impact with the right design elements. The goal for this space was to craft an experience of quirky elegance, a place that guests would find both surprising and sophisticated.
I had the rewarding opportunity to elevate a simple powder room into a sophisticated and serene space. The overarching goal was to blend functionality with elegance, creating an inviting atmosphere that would resonate with both the inhabitants and their guests.
Starting with a bare and utilitarian room, we first addressed the color palette, opting for warm neutral tones to establish a calming foundation. The choice of paint played a significant role in this transformation; it was essential to select a shade that exuded tranquility while also serving as a perfect backdrop for the more dramatic elements we intended to introduce.
Wainscoting was installed to add architectural interest and depth to the room. Its crisp white finish provided a classic touch and a visual contrast against the neutral walls, also serving to protect the lower sections from wear and tear—an essential consideration in a frequently used space.
